Depending on their level of training, Podiatrists maybe be able to perform bone surgery and order x-rays, while most Chiropodists do not. Chiropodist is the most broadly used and accepted term for a foot specialist in Ontario. Chiropodists are highly trained and skilled professionals, specializing in the treatment of foot ailments. They are experts in the biomechanics of feet and are licensed to administer local anesthetics and perform soft tissue surgery.
